The story: Having fully met the Fockers in the 2004 smash sequel to 2000′s Meet the Parents, the family is shown five years later with Greg and Pam (Stiller and Polo) now married and the parents of twins. While celebrating his grandchildren’s fifth birthday, control-freak Jack (De Niro) uses the occasion to encourage his hapless son-in-law to take over as head of the clan.

What’s new:Harvey Keitel as the contractor in charge of the endless remodeling of Greg and Pam’s house and Jessica Alba as a drug rep who befriends Greg, now chief nurse at Chicago General. Plus, Wilson returns as Kevin Rawley, Pam’s infuriatingly perfect ex-beau.

Replacing Jay Roach as director is Weitz (About a Boy). “He brings a different insight into the characters, ” says producer Jane Rosenthal of the still-untitled film. But, as usual, “Jack thinks he sees one thing and misunderstands it. That creates friction.” Streisand returns as Mama Focker, but Dustin Hoffman’s Daddy Focker sits this one out.
